There still is the discussion if a video is able to replace a language teacher. No, it does not. In my opinion a video is only a kind of extra training for individual learning but is not able to replace a human being in front of a class. Teachers still have the possibility to react individually on their students needs. A video is only a static educational material.
I would not go that far to say, that learning by video is inefficient. It eventually can help students to do more than they have to. Videos often attract students, most of them are young learners. Using a video, a computer or the internet is diversified from the regular English lesson where they only are allowed to use their book.
